Discontinuing access to DeployGate from devices and deployment tools that do not support SNI

Thank you for using DeployGate.

After 2023/11/30, you cannot access DeployGate Web services and API from client devices, deployment tools, etc., that don’t support SNI (Server Name Indication) in order to enhance our security measures.

Background

SNI is an extension of the SSL/TLS protocol, which is used to secure website access. It allows multiple SSL/TLS certificates to be hosted on a single server.

DeployGate has supported SNI in order to allow some older devices and software to access our services. However, we will discontinue SNI support for the purpose of strengthening security after November 30, 2023. With this change, access from devices and software that do not support SNI will be restricted.

Applicable devices and software

The applicable devices and software are as follows:

  • Devices with Android versions earlier than 3.0
  • Tools (such as Jenkins) using Java versions earlier than 7

If you use those above, an update to an SNI-compatible environment is required. Also, please note that DeployGate only supports Android versions 5.0 or later.

Finally

Please confirm that your current client devices and development tools support SNI and upgrade them if necessary.

If you have any questions, please contact our support team. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Thank you for your continued support of DeployGate.
